Day 1: Take a flight from Entebbe airport/Kajjansi airfield to Kihihi/Kisoro airstrip

Have breakfast early and after, expect to catch up with your flight to Kisoro or Kihihi airstrip starting at 7:00am. On arrival, meet your driver guide for transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in a comfortable 4×4 Uganda safari land cruiser/safari van. Enjoy the scenic view of the countryside rolling hills en-route and upon arrival, check into a gorilla safari lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Have a heavy breakfast and later, connect to Bwindi park offices for verification and then briefing on gorilla trekking guidelines beginning at 7:00am. Make sure you have a valid gorilla permit, some snacks and adequate drinking water with you. The park official will also allocate to you a gorilla group, each family will be tracked by 8 visitors and at 8:00am, the park guide leads you on a search for your respective gorilla family.

Over 20 gorilla group families have been habituated and now open for tourism in Bwindi, all of which are distributed in the park’s 4 main gorilla trekking regions; Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo and Rushaga. Upon spotting a gorilla group, a maximum of 1 hour will be allowed for you to take pictures (ensure you are using non-flashlight camera), learn more about these apes’ daily behaviors and a lot more. Walk back to the gorilla safari lodge for relaxation, dinner and a night stay.

After an exploration of about 2-6 hours inclusive of 1 hour of magical encounter, get back to the lodge to relax but you will have an afternoon visit to Batwa pygmy community. At the Batwa community, you won’t be left bored because you will entertained by the Batwa pygmies, who are known to have spent more than 500000 years in the forest as gatherers and hunters. Dinner and overnight will be at your respective lodges.
