Detailed Itinerary for 8 Days Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Tour
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to City Hotel
You will be met by your guide after your arrival at Entebbe International airport. He will transfer you to Serena hotel in Kampala. A welcome drink will be served as you check – in relax and later this afternoon you will be taken out for traditional entertainment by a cultural group. The performances will be mostly songs dances from the different tribes in the country.
Return to the hotel for dinner served with a bottle of wine. Serena hotel is one of the famous Serena group of 5-star facilities located in Kampala city center
Day 2: Kampala City tour – Visit Historical & Cultural sites in the city
Visit the Uganda museum, there after the city’s historical places and later the heritage trail that takes you back into the history of the Buganda kingdom – the largest in the country. The prayer places, markets and other attractions will be part of your tour. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Depart for Queen Elizabeth national park this morning, arriving early afternoon at Jacana lodge. Relax for the rest of the after, a swim at the pool or a drink while taking the beautiful surrounding. If keen, you can go on a late afternoon game drive or a forest walk.
Dinner will be served with a bottle of wine. A romantic place in the wilderness – Jacana lodge!
Day 4: Game Drive and Launch Cruise
Early morning game drive through the park, during which you will be viewing the larger mammals – elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, hyenas, leopards and more. There are several crate lakes in the park and its surrounding, one of which is the famous Lake Katwe – “salt lake” from which most of the salt consumed in the country is mined.
This afternoon, there will be a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel, the channel joins Lake Edward & Lake George, its rich with bird-life and as you cruise along there are various animals drinking from this channel at different spots. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi forest is known as the mountain gorilla park that hosts the largest number of the endangered giant primates. You will go site seeing and visit the local tribes in the area among which the pygmies. You will return to your lodge for chilling and some activities such as swimming or bird watching at the lodge.
Dinner will be served with a drink of your choice. Clouds Mountain Lodge is one of the best facilities.
Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
An early morning breakfast, packed up lunch and then head to Bwindi National park headquarters of any sector you will have booked a gorilla permit to. You will be briefed and later allocated a gorilla group to track. Embark on your gorilla trekking journey into the forest escorted with an armed ranger. The trek usually lasts between 2 to 8 hours meaning you should be ready for a long hike. An hour is offered to encounter with mountain gorillas following the guidelines. Later Return to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking certificate before heading to your lodge for chilling, dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Return to Kampala
Return to Kampala, a stop for lunch and curio shopping at the equator. Dinner and overnight at Serena hotel
Day 8: Departure
The transfer to Entebbe International airport in time to check-in for your departure flight
