Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
After breakfast, start your Mgahinga gorilla, golden monkey and Batwa trail tour to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Kisoro. Your primate safari trip covers 8 to 9 hours’ drive starting from Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara-Kisoro district.
En-route, you will have a stop visit at equator to perform some experiment and photography. Lunch stopover will be at Igongo Cultural Centre and after, continue to southwestern Uganda while on enjoying the stunning view of the countryside rolling hills.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Have your cup of tea or coffee and after, assemble at Ntebeko reception for briefing on gorilla trekking rules but ensure you go with some packed lunch and energy snacks. You will be allocated to a park guide to accompany you on a gorilla trek to explore Nyakagezi group.
You will take about 2-6 hours navigating through the jungles to interact with mountain gorillas. Once you have spotted Nyakagezi group, you will be given 1 hour to have a face to face encounter with its members, take pictures and learn more about their behaviors. Return after your gorilla trekking experience for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at gorilla safari lodge.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking and Batwa trail in Mgahinga National Park
Enjoy your breakfast and later, your third day of 4 days Mgahinga gorilla, golden monkeys and Batwa trail tour. You will be briefed on golden monkey tracking rules and after, begin a search for golden monkeys lasting you for about 2-4 hours which includes 1 hour of magical encounter and photography.
Retreat from your thrilling primate adventure to relax at your gorilla safari lodge. In the afternoon, your next activity will be exploring the Batwa trail. The Batwa trail lets you explore and experience the Batwa pygmies’ unique lifestyles, traditions, practices, the dances, music performances, their ancient hunting and gathering methods. Return for dinner and overnight stay at your respective safari lodge.
