Uganda habours a great number of animals especially the tropical animals. They are reserved in the national parks and game reserves of Uganda. They are live in parks like Murchison falls national park where almost three quarters of wild animals in Uganda reside, Queen Elizabeth national park where the unique tree climbing lions stay, Lake Mburo National park is renowned for its zebras and elands, kidepo valley national park is an isolated park situated in the north eastern part of Uganda. Kibale National park even if it is famous for the biggest number of chimpanzees, it is also home to some huge mammals like elephants and buffalos, Semuliki national park, Ziiwa Rhino sanctuary where rehabilitation of Rhinos is taking place and so many others.
These parks are homes to parks animals like lions, leopards, elands, giraffes, waterbucks, bush bucks, warthogs, elephants, hyenas, Uganda kobs, statungas, zebras, hippopotami, crocodiles, to mention but a few. Most of them share these habitats and others are only found in particular parks.
Other animals are rehabilitated at Uganda wildlife Education Center (UWEC). This was formerly called Uganda zoo. They live freely in there exhibits which were named according to the National parks that Uganda has. They make a summary of what is found in the major parks.
